Sample Events and Activities
The WCCA plans many children’s, family, and parent events
throughout the year such as:
- Informal activities and playgroups, organized by
age, giving families with preschool and early-elementary aged children an
opportunity to connect with peers.
- Family events including an annual Halloween
Parade, Pancake Breakfast, and Memorial Day Concert
- Library enrichment programs including story-time
readings, crafts and author/illustrator talks
- Performances by children’s entertainers during
public school vacation weeks
- “Drop-in” playtime for preschool children held
Friday mornings and Dad’s Drop-in every other Saturday morning at the Weston
Community Center
Community service opportunities for families to
support local organizations and involve children in community giving
- Parent Education keynote speakers and forums
addressing parenting, child development and family issues
- Adult social events, including fall and spring
cocktail parties, potluck dinners and mom’s nights
- Weekend and evening events for dual career
families
